Our Therapy Approach
The success of traditional talk therapy often varies from individual to individual, and as such depends on multiple factors. For instance, a mental health diagnosis and the symptom severity resulting from it can obviously make it difficult to process by only speaking about it. Also, sometimes it is simply difficult to communicate feelings and what is happening internally because verbal processing is not bringing clarity or truth to the surface.
Because of these limitations, all of our therapists also use when appropriate nonverbal therapies to bring truth to the surface so it can be accessed, expressed and processed. By developing these new and healing relationships to our truth, we become free to live expanded lives.
One of our guiding principles is that we are your supporter in a shared experience of discovery, being completed by both of us working together. By exploring the body, emotions, the unconscious, dreams…in other words, all the ways beyond just speaking with each other, what else can we uncover? Can we see, hear and feel what is going on through a cultural, spiritual, “dis-ease”, or another type of lens?
Overall, we promote a synergistic relationship with primary medical care by supporting patients in a holistic and harmonious working relationship with other health professionals. Reach out to us with any questions as we work together.
