A spiritual and self-discovery system that combines elements of astrology, the I Ching, the Kabbalah, and the Hindu-Brahmin chakra system, among other influences. It’s a holistic personality analysis tool that provides insights into an individual’s unique characteristics, strengths, challenges, and life path. Human Design aims to help individuals better understand themselves, make decisions aligned with their true nature, and navigate life more authentically.
The system was developed by Ra Uru Hu (born Robert Allan Krakower) in the late 1980s after he claimed to have received a series of revelations over an eight-day period. Human Design is based on the concept that each person has a specific “design” that reflects their individuality and potential. This design is calculated based on the individual’s birth date, time, and place.
Key components of Human Design include:
Energy Centers (Chakras): Human Design identifies nine energy centers, each associated with different aspects of life, such as communication, emotions, and spirituality. The presence or absence of energy in these centers is said to influence an individual’s characteristics and interactions.
Types: There are five primary Human Design Types: Manifestors, Generators, Manifesting Generators, Projectors, and Reflectors. Each type has its own strategy for making decisions and interacting with the world.
Authority: Authority refers to the way in which an individual is best equipped to make decisions. It might be based on factors such as intuition, gut feelings, emotions, or logic.
Profiles: Profiles in Human Design are calculated based on the positions of the Sun and Earth at the time of birth. Profiles provide insights into an individual’s life path, strengths, and potential challenges.
Channels and Gates: Human Design divides the body graph (a graphical representation of an individual’s design) into channels and gates, each with its own significance and meaning.
Not-Self Themes: These are the emotional states that individuals might experience when they are not living in alignment with their true nature.
Strategy: Each Human Design Type has a specific strategy for interacting with the world and making decisions. Following this strategy is believed to lead to a more harmonious and fulfilling life.
